Well since it's been eight months since I touched this journal, I suppose it's time I throw an update around for anyone who might care!

TOP FIVE REASONS I HAVE BEEN AWOL ON DEVART THIS SUMMER:
#5. ~Solar-Draconis came to visit me for three weeks in June/July. We did absolutely nothing productive in those three weeks except geek about Star Trek and run around my home state going to museums and landmarks. And zoo.
#4. I've been reading more, shock and awe! This leaves less time for drawing.
#3. I've also been watching more things! Mostly Star Trek: The Original Series on youtube with ~Solar-Draconis, but also healthy doses of Firefly and the occasional foray into retro The Slayers or the Tales of the Abyss anime.
#2. I got into Nursing school! This made everything extremely busy for me even before classes start, as I had to get like five immunizations, my CPR certification, my driver's license, and a host of other paperwork before I could even register for my classes. So there's been that hopping around the back of my head.
#1. I am shy, lazy, and usually dislike my art enough to where I don't bother posting my scribbles. I have a LOT of scribbles and WIPs, I just don't have the drive to finish most of them and don't like uploading unfinished work. :/

With that said, I do check dA multiple times a day and am definitely around, just... Not posting much, and only commenting when I have something useful to say. I don't like doing the whole "one sentence comment" thing. D: If you want to keep up with me on a more frequent basis than this, my twitter page is a good place to hang out.

And with that said, I must sadly report that this is unlikely to change in the near future!

You see, when someone enters Nursing school, they are clearly masochistic individuals who have not yet learned to value their free time. And by that I mean I am soon to have a total of none; on top of 8 AM classes, even earlier clinicals, and the most important course material I will probably ever have to learn.

I am *SO* looking forward to it! *flails excitedly* YEEEEE. ♥

However, there are things one can expect on the horizon!

On the art front, I've got a massive picture in the works that I actually do expect to finish unlike most of my other moderately large art projects. I put at least five cumulative hours into the sketch ALONE, and am just now starting the linearting process. I'd post a screenshot of my photoshop right now, but I can't find a spot in the picture that doesn't ruin the surprise, so I'll just leave it to your imaginations. I hope to have this picture done sometime during the weekend, maybe? But definitely before the 28th, which is when my school starts and I won't have the drive to work on this anymore.

On the more writing-sided front, and the more ambiguously-timed front, ~Solar-Draconis and I came to a realization a few weeks ago.

If any of you remember our little story entitled Taking Over Heaven, it regards that. If you weren't interested in our tale before the hiatus, or don't particularly care anymore, you can stop reading now, because the rest of this journal is just blathering about that. ♥;;;

We realized that, wow. That thing is really broken. We were so obviously fifteen/sixteen at the time of writing it that it shows painfully, in the amount of mary-sue, out-of-character and stupid plot devices we managed to throw into those 600-something pages.

We have decided to set it right. This thing is our baby, and we want to do it justice.

We have undertaken the task of almost completely re-writing it from the top, making it better, more in-character and believable, more faithful to Symphonia canon, and less painful to read. We managed to keep some of the beginning intact because it was more recent than a lot of the writing, but we are currently in the process of literally constructing a new initial plotline from scratch -- because the beginning of it before was REALLY, REALLY BROKEN.

If you were a fan, don't worry, the essence of the story won't change. Just what went into it. However, I will say that I won't be hosting it on dA anymore -- it cluttered up my gallery and I don't think we actually had any readers here anyway. It will stay on FanFiction.net under ~Solar-Draconis's care, as well as possibly gain its own LiveJournal posting. If anyone has any other ideas of where it may be better suited to post it than LiveJournal, please PLEASE throw them my way. I honestly can't find another reliable sort of place to post our epic tale.

I'll leave the old abomination up for now just because we are nowhere near ready to start reposting again, so if for some reason you want to preserve it for the sake of seeing how much we sucked, take your chance.

Our ETA for the Taking Over Heaven reboot is currently just "COMING EVENTUALLY", pending how badly our school and work schedules mess up our ability to roleplay on any given night. When we get a good idea of how much we can get done how fast, I'll update with an ETA on the table. Until then, know that we're workin' on it!
